"Lord of the Rings" horse

I was rescued from starvation on Feb. 11, 2010, by owner surrender to Fresh Start.

Yesterday, Oct. 8, 2011, I came home with my new forever mom, Chris!

Home at last!

I’m the gentle, experienced trail horse you want to ride lightly on weekends…I can lead, follow, or we can go off by ourselves, wherever you may guide me. Every time a family came to visit me, I was so hopeful! I was disappointed by a family who promised me they would take me home; but happily, a young woman named Donna fostered me for the summer, and then once back at FSHR, I formally entered the adoption process. I have nutritious pasture and plenty of companions at my new home, as I did at Fresh Start, and Chris has ridden and played with me a lot.  (She has fostered horses and donated hay to FSHR for a couple of years now, and is currently fostering Comet). I look forward to a happy life with her and my new pasture mates.

Facts about me:
Black Mare
Age: unknown, estimated at between 15 and 22.
Hands: 15
Breed: unknown. I am a Bar-N horse from the Navajo Nation, and that is an excellent “breed” in itself. Popular opinion is that I could be part Morgan.
I require: lots of love, senior feed supplementation in winter, and riding exercise in moderation.
Adopt me for: Companion animal, trail rides child/light adult riding, the grandkids.
