EHV-1 (Equine Herpes)

Several cases of the EHV-1 virus occurred in Colorado. So far they have been documented in Boulder, Larimer, Weld, and Mesa Counties. The disease has also spread through other western states. The 2011 Equine Herpes Virus outbreak was scary, so I was prompted to post a few links about it. 2011′s outbreak is traced back to horses attending the National Cutting Horse Association’s Western National Championships in Ogden, UT held on April 29 to May 8, 2011. Counties first affected in Colorado were: Boulder, Larimer, Weld, and Mesa.
